About Us

Sunshine Coast 2032 is a is a not-for-profit company
limited by guarantee, established in 2022 to maximise
the opportunities provided by the Brisbane 2032 Olympic
and Paralympic Games. Driven by the needs and
aspirations of our region Sunshine Coast 2032 aims to
deliver enduring benefits across sectors for the community.
We seek to drive economic success, foster positive
community sentiment, and enhance the liveability and
environment of our region.


Sunshine Coast 2032 operates under the direction of a
Board of Directors and is driven by volunteers united
by a common purpose to liaise, connect and unite with
stakeholders through collaborative relationships in
accordance with the community to help bring positive
change in society focused on creating a community
that is inclusive, supportive, and empowered.


The core values of Sunshine Coast 2032 are based on
three key areas: integrity, accountability, and progression.

The Board of Directors is assisted by three Board Committees,
a Communications Advisory Group and six
Teams. These are:

We work collaboratively with other stakeholders including
at all levels of Government and other Olympic bodies
including the Organising Committee of the Olympic
Games. Our role is to amplify their objectives and ensure
there is an ongoing link between Government, Olympic
bodies and the Sunshine Coast community.

SUNSHINE COAST 2032 BOARD

Roz White

Chair

Roz White is an award-winning business leader with over 30 years’ experience, a charity volunteer and leading advocate for various industry groups.   Roz is the co-owner of White’s IGA Group & White’s Commercial Property Group employing 500 people in the Sunshine Coast community.  

Roz has held community leadership positions including board chair and is a mentor and regular speaker at trade and industry events.    Roz is a current member the University of the Sunshine Coast Foundation Board, a past board director of Montrose Therapy & Respite Services, advisory member of the Queensland Community Foundation (Sunshine Coast), USC Business School External Academic Advisory Committee and Immediate Past President of the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network.   Roz is a passionate advocate for business and has led the IGA QNN State Board as Chair and is a previous member of the IGA National Council and Sunshine Coast Business Council.

Roz was recognised as the SCBWN Outstanding Business Woman of the Year in 2015 and named Owner/Entrepreneur Leader of the Year in 2016 by the Australian Institute of Management.  Roz was inducted in the IGA Hall of Fame in 2017 as the first independent female, a prestigious honour and significant milestone for women in the supermarket industry.  Roz was also a Telstra Business Woman of the Year finalist in 2019 and has been awarded multiple national and state industry retail excellence & community awards over the past 25 years.

management, and project management, I am a versatile and adaptable leader who
thrives in for-purpose organizations, small businesses, and community networks.

Dawn-Lorraine Fraser

Director

With over 15 years of experience in business transformation, human resources
management, and project management, I am a versatile and adaptable leader who
thrives in for-purpose organizations, small businesses, and community networks.

Jan Willett

Director

Jan has been a leader in events since the Sydney 2000 Olympics. She was the Director of Major Events for the NSW Premier’s Department for over a decade. She was responsible for oversighting the Sydney Marathon, FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, Vivid Sydney, City to Surf, Sydney New Year’s Eve. Jan was the NSW Government lead on the Invictus Games, securing this international event for Sydney and overseeing operations. She also led an event production team that delivered events including Australia Day and Sydney New Year’s Eve in 2020. She was an adviser to the Greater London Authority on London 2012 planning.

Jan now leads her consultancy specialising in event planning and readiness. Jan is currently on the board of Sunshine Coast 2032 and has been a Director on the boards of FIBA Women’s World Cup, Sydney World Pride and the UCI World Cycling Championships.

Mal Brough

Director

Mal and his family have been residents of the Sunshine Coast for 34 years. As a former federal MP and Minister Mal brings a wealth of knowledge in government relations. His extensive networks across the business sporting and community sectors are a great asset to Sc2032. 

Lani Refiti

Director

Lani is a long-time Sunshine Coast resident who is passionate about developing economic opportunities for the region. An avid investor and entrepreneur, he previously served as an executive committee member of the now-ceased Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance. Lani has actively worked to further economic initiatives, particularly in the not-for-profit sector and sees Sunshine Coast 2032 as a key foundational initiative for our community.

Currently, he holds several key positions, including Chairperson at Gateway Care, Queensland’s largest community food bank, and member of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA). Additionally, Lani is a Founding Partner at Azcende VC, a venture capital and advisory firm focused on national security.

With a strong background in technology and cybersecurity, Lani’s career has spanned various leadership roles. He formerly served as Lead Partner for Cyber Risk Advisory at Deloitte and Director of Cybersecurity at PwC. Throughout his career, Lani has primarily focused on cybersecurity and critical infrastructure, and is now artificial intelligence (AI).
